Club stand at local college event

Ashford Camera Club displayed a selection of pictures, both digital and prints, at the “Encounter Culture” event held in the Thomas Knyvett College in Ashford on Saturday 4th February 2012. The event was aimed at families and included professional artists’ workshops in a range of activities such as puppetry and fim editing. Our club stand was next to that of a textile artist whose passion for knitting included giant cross stitches, graffiti embroidery, knitting and wrapping of street furniture. Our chairman tried his hand at knitting with giant needles made from broom handles.

A display for the local library

A photographic exhibition of work by Ashford Camera Club was held in St Matthew’s Church Hall, Muncaster Close on Saturday 29 October 2011. The exhibition was well attended by local people, including two councillors, and typical comments included “Excellent – very good show” and “A very enjoyable and entertaining exhibition”.

Windsor Park

On Tuesday evening 5 July we met at Englefield Green for a photographic amble through Windsor Park. Unfortunately it rained heavily so we retreated to the conservatory of the Sun Inn and spent a pleasant evening in the dry!

Ashford-on-the-Map

Sunday 5 June was the day for Ashford-on-the-Map, an event held on the playing fields of the local school. The event showcases the local groups and societies with stalls, parades and displays. As usual the vice-chairman brought along his large tent and we erected tables and display boards inside it to show off our prints.

Bushy Park

On Sunday 15 May a group of us met up in Bushy Park and spent the morning photographing deer, woods, flowers and birds. We finished off with refreshments at the Pheasantry.
